As announced with the previous instrument, the extension increases the system of Fritz Micklitz to three rows (top). The lower six follow the Zademack system.

However, by using two different systems, the actual aim of simplifying the operation of the instrument was missed. (With the right side, three systems had to be learnt).

This circumstance led to a redesign of the left manual shortly afterwards.

Right manual:

The chromatic tone arrangement in semitone steps as on the piano has a significant disadvantage with this manual. After four keys in chromatic sequence, the finger supply of a bandonion player is exhausted. To the next key one have to 'jump' or to change fingers silently.

This problem was considered by a Mr A. Gerlinger, see next.

A curiosity from today's perspective, but a serious attempt at optimisation at the time: an attenuation slider to influence the volume ratios.
